Hurting but don't want pills, injections or surgery?

Updated: Dec 16, 2020

I have played soccer since I was six years old and have had injuries here and there. I had sharp knee pain when sprinting full speed in high school. My doctor said "Oh it's just overuse" and gave me no treatment options except for ibuprofen. I'm not much for taking medication if I don't have to so I just tried to not sprint so fast. With rest after the season was over it resolved. But maybe it would have gotten better faster without as much pain if I had other options.

Then in college I had hip pain from a running injury. I would limp after every run and eventually I had pain just walking on days I didn't run. I wasn't very knowledgeable at that time but it was so painful I thought I might need a major surgery! I was jealous of all the older people who could run without pain. Initially I was instructed to take a prescription strength dose of ibuprofen every day for a week. This helped but the moment I got off the medicine my pain returned. It was only masking the issue. Then I was sent to a physical therapist and have since run a 1/2 marathon without pain when just prior to my injury I was only running 3 miles at a time.

Finally in my adult life I have had to recover my pelvic region after having each kid. I have two children. I sought a physical therapist that specialized in pelvic health to help me reach my goals. I returned to soccer after both children. Even though I'm a physical therapist, this area is not my specialty. I know of a great place though!

I wasn't going to let any of these injuries/traumas stop me. I was so glad all my issues could be resolved without long term medication use, surgery or injections. My heart YEARNS to keep playing. The soccer field is where I feel so much happiness. I love the workout, the socializing, and the game.

More than anything, I want to continue to use my skills to help others in the way I have been helped in the past. My business is just in the beginning phases but I'm proud of what all I've learned so far. My goal is to learn as much as I can to help YOU!
